Cantiere delle Marche presents in Cannes M/Y "Stella di Mare": the new 30 meters of Explorer Yacht's line Darwin Class.

Ancona, 26th August 2013. Italian shipyard Cantiere delle Marche announces the presentation at the next Boat Show in Cannes of the new 30-meters Explorer vessel in steel and alluminium M/Y "Stella di Mare", built by Cantiere delle Marche in Ancona and designed by Sergio Cutolo of Hydro Tec.

CdM's shareholder and sales director Vasco Buonpensiere comments: "This 30-meters yacht is once again the confirmation of the importance of owner and shipyard's relationship and his involvement in the process. That's why I would like to thank our client, his family and the team here at CdM that has contributed building this beautiful, luxury, tough and safe yacht. Cantiere delle Marche stands out, and always will, for its commitment in satisfying its clients at best".

Darwin Class 96': the main features and the brief
M/Y "Stella di Mare" has been designed and engineered to satisfy all the owner's requirements. He and his large family will cruise extensively the Mediterranean Sea, covering also the most secluded and frequented spots, and they will then eventually cross the Atlantic Ocean and extend the navigation through US East Coast and the Caribbean. The owner is a very life-at-sea and yachts passionate, he loves piloting his boat and he uses to spend a lot of time in the wheelhouse. For this reason, and in order to let him share his experience and time also with his family and friends, Cantiere delle Marche has designed a custom sky lounge, open on the wheelhouse. In case of night cruising, the pilot station can be isolated by a rollaway screen avoiding interferences of lights on the bridge's glasses.
The Darwin Class 96' maintains the Darwin family feeling, but it differentiates from the previous Yachts of the same line for many features: the interiors - each room is 10sqm bigger -, the VIP cabin is 1,50 sqm longer, with almost the same volumes of the Owner's Cabin and the main deck is considerably extended. Regarding the working space, the crew area accommodates 6 people, all the storage spaces have been increased and optimized to allow the maximum capacity in view of long passages and cruises. The garage, 10sqm bigger than the former vessels, contains also 4 bikes, 2 of them electric, with their recharge battery station. As the interiors, also the exteriors gain in volumes and meters, in order to enjoy the very best experience every minute of the life aboard: all the bridges are noticeably longer and the sundeck has been enlarged to about 50sqm, from the (already big) 40sqm on the Darwin 86.
MTU 8V 2000 M72/720 Kw engines give 13,5 knots speed and minimum levels of consumption, thanks to the Heavy Duty setting, that characterizes all CdM's yachts. A particular attention has been given to the insulation and noise control, on the owner's specific request: CdM has developed a custom noise damping system which will reduce noise dramatically.

Darwin Class 96': the interiors
Designed by architect Pierluigi Floris, the interiors are contemporary, linear and very luminous, with a total white lower deck enriched by details in essence. Natural Elm and open pore white Elm are the main essences, with Travertino marbles throughout the Vessel.

Darwin Class 96': technical features and specs
The new yacht totally matches with the Darwin Class' technical features as far as for the extra-thick steel plates, the Heavy Duty engines, the Cupro Nickel piping, the remote controlled valves, the automatic parallel device for gensets' management, the treatment systems for bilge, black and grey water, these used also on commercial ships. Every details in the engine room has been designed and constructed following the highest criteria: this is definitely one of the reasons why Cantiere delle Marche has so fastly become a reference in the market in spite of his recent start up.
Darwin Class, as the name could suggest, are a type of vessels that heralds an advance in the evolution of a species, namely the yacht, which, although it modifies its form, keeps its DNA unchanged, the commercial ships, maintaining all the chromosomes that allow it to cruise in safety, in every weather's condition and in complete independence. The yachts measure from 21 to 45 metres, and they contain features rarely seen in vessels of this size.

Darwin Class 96': eco-features
CDM's mission is to make its yachts eco-compatible: an important contribution in this sense is the option to outfit Darwin Class vessels with Azipod electric diesel engine systems developed in collaboration with the most technologically advanced companies in the shipbuilding industry. Thanks to these innovative, highly manoeuvrable propulsion units the yachts built by Cantiere delle Marche will lower their environmental impact, reduce their emissions and achieve a quantum leap in sailing autonomy before refuelling.
