CDM Pre-owned Sales Department announces that the Darwin 86 Vitadimare 3 has been sold!
“Vitadimare 3 is the very first explorer yacht of the Darwin Class. She was launched at the newly founded
Cantiere delle Marche facilities in Ancona on May 8th 2011. She represented a true evolution of what the
market offered at that time and we can proudly say that all explorer yachts built by us since then constantly raise the bar,”
says Ennio Cecchini, the company co-founder and President.
After 12 years of ‘distinguished service’ her former Owner decided to pass the buck and sell her to an enthusiast European yachtsman who will take care of her the way he did for over a decade. The new Owner will rename her Eva. With thousands and thousands of miles in her logbook, Vitadimare 3 is still shipshape and she is a testament to the quality, reliability and ingenuity of her construction.
“The yacht was off-market and just a month after the Owner contacted us for advice, asking to help him sell the yacht, we found a new Owner, for beautiful Vitadimare 3. Both previous and new Owner expressed their satisfaction for the assistance received from our team,” says Carlo Aquilanti, Cantiere delle Marche Sales Manager and responsible for the Pre-owned Sales Department. “It has been a pleasure and an honor for me to follow through the deal. We are all very fond of this explorer yacht that represents our debut on the international yachting market, a yacht that accomplished the hard task to make Cantiere delle Marche known and appreciated worldwide.”
With a robust steel hull, imposing bow and bulwarks, a total length of 26.10m and a beam of 7.43m, Vitadimare 3 is powered by twin Caterpillar C12 engines delivering 287kW each. The modest power coupled to 42600 litres of fuel allows this explorer yacht designed by Sergio Cutolo/Hydro Tec a range well above 6000nm at 9 knots.
Thanks to reliable machineries, redundant equipment, roomy engine room she is actually a little ship, a go-anywhere explorer yacht. She features4 guest cabins on the Lower deck, full beam Owner suite included, and an open plan salon on the Main deck. Two crew cabins are located on the Main deck forward the galley and a cozy crew mess.
As the yacht is meant for long lasting or night navigations, the Captain’s cabin is next to the wheelhouse on the Upper. On the same deck there is a comfortable Owner office/media room. A large Sun deck is equipped with dining area and bar served by a dumbwaiter, a feature not common on yachts below 30m that makes the service smooth and quick.
“A few years ago, we have created a special division to deal with second-hand explorer yachts built by Cantiere delle Marche and since its inception the activity of CDM Pre-owned Sales Department has been successful. Who knows better than us the yachts we built, following their story from concept to completion and beyond?... rhetorical question,” says Vasco Buonpensiere, co-founder and CEO of Cantiere delle Marche.
“I’d like to provide some data that speak for themselves”, Aquilanti says:
• Since 2011 we delivered 13 Darwin Class vessels and we have been entrusted to resell successfully 11 of them
• Averagely, we have sold those vessels at an increased value of around 1.8%
• The average time between sales assignment and contract closing with a new owner has been of only 4.5 months,”
There is no doubt that our knowledge of the product and of the specific market, together with the fact that we put at the Buyer’s disposal all our internal offices (Technical, Interiors, Purchase departments etc) in order to help him getting the clearest idea of what to do and how much it will cost to be done, is of paramount importance to reach the above results.
“CDM Pre-owned Sales Dept. assists the new Owners during the hand over process supporting them in technical surveys as well as all bureaucratic procedures. We are not brokers and we don’t want to be considered as such. We work in close cooperation with the worldwide brokerage community and we are very happy to support them in case one of their clients i s looking for a boat with the specifications of the like of Cantiere delle Marche’s” Carlo Aquilanti concludes.
